This hex calculator does arithmetic and bitwise operations on hexadecimal (base 16) numbers, and shows the result in hex, decimal and binary.
How hexadecimal works
Hex uses 16 digits: 0–9 and A–F, where A = 10 and F = 15. Each place is worth 16 times the one to its right, so 1A = 1 × 16 + 10 = 26. One hex digit equals exactly four binary digits, which is why programmers use hex for memory addresses and colors.
Worked example
1A (26) + FF (255) = 119 in hex, which is 281 in decimal.
